Jaime Yamanaka has been immersed in martial arts for over 20 years, earning her 5th-degree black belt in Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate. Raised in the dojo under the guidance of her father, Grandmaster Ron Yamanaka, Jaime was shaped by a lineage of internationally renowned martial artists who instilled in her a deep respect for discipline, tradition, and lifelong learning.

In addition to Goju-Ryu, she has trained extensively in Yamanaka-ha Shindo Ryu Jujutsu and Shaolin Kung Fu —bringing a multidisciplinary perspective to her teaching. She has competed on the international stage and now teaches seminars across Canada and abroad. Through it all, Jaime has come to see martial arts not just as a physical practice—but as a way of living in harmony, with oneself and others.

In her professional life, Jaime leads learning and development at one of Canada’s Big Four accounting firms, specializing in human potential and leadership. She brings that same intentionality to the dojo—combining deep martial knowledge with a passion for teaching and personal transformation.

Sensei Jaime is committed to helping her students find strength, confidence, and balance through martial arts—just as it helped her. Her goal is simple: to continue passing on the wisdom of martial arts.
